English Reins may be sewn straight to the bit. This is actually the most professional way of attaching English reins. Most English reins are available in plain leather or cotton reins, which can be dressed up with lacing. Depending on the size of the rider, some riders prefer extra long reins.  A bit will not make a horse work properly, but proper riding does. While different horses have different mouth conformation and various sensitivity levels that require using a variety of bits, it is the rider’s responsibility to master the horsemanship skills essential to properly communicate with the horse. Pony Saddles usually have a 12" seat and are designed to fit Shetland and Welsh ponies.  Although there are short and light adults riding ponies, pony saddles are most of the time used by children.   The youth pony saddle seat size refers to a measurement in inches.
